My girlfriend just pointed me to a book that she started reading last night and thought I should look at, just for the publisher and stuff. It kept her up until 1 last night, and she says it reminds her of my work. Now, why do I mention this? The book she started reading is The Songs of Distant Earth, by Arthur C. Clarke.
While I haven’t actually read any of his books, just the fact that I was compared to him by someone blows me away. The coolest thing, is that she was not familiar with him either, and it was not until we started talking about it that she realized he was the force behind such works as 2001: A Space Odyssey.
What a great way to start the day!
